The Major of Software is an innovative discipline that embodies the design and development of modern computing systems including software and a broad range of computer applications. The mission of the Major of Software at Duksung Women’s University is to provide state-of-the-art education to be creative and innovative software engineers. To achieve the mission, we provide a complete curriculum containing coursework at the introductory, common cores, and advanced levels. The discipline areas include Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Internet of Things, and Mobile Computing.
Education Objective

The Major of Software, which is the core of science and technology and the advancement of society, has seen rapid developments based on interdisciplinary collaboration. We provide basic education for students to acquire solid background knowledge, and offer a curriculum that actively responds to the changing demands of the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution. In doing so, it aims to instill creative problem-solving skills and to encourage holistic talent in individuals who can drive positive changes within the software paradigm.

  • March 2020, Established the Major of Software in the College of Science of Technology.
  • All members including faculties and staffs are dedicated to the fostering of creative IT talent, convergence of education and research with global competitiveness.
Education Curriculum

The core competencies targeted by the curriculum are 1) Artificial Intelligence, 2) Big Data, 3) Internet of Things, and 4) Mobile computing. The curriculum is composed of 8 mandatory courses and over 13 electives, and is continuously improved to reflect the latest trends. (See “curriculum” for more details on the educational program.) Students can gain real-world experience through practicum, and participate in laboratory internship programs to prepare for graduate study.
