The Department of Textile Design Major introduces a curriculum to develop artistic and crafting sensitivity and practical design ability to foster design prodigies with artistic creativity and industrial professionalism.
Through the linkage and step-by-step composition of a classified professional curriculum, various domestic and international student activities are taking place to share ideas and experiences as designers, artists, craftsmen, and business owners.
In particular, the Department supports students to take parts in domestic fairs to promote their works, domestic and international exhibitions for displays, and a tour program visiting Asian countries for global experiences. After graduation, students either continue their studies, get employed, or start their businesses in the fields of design, arts, and craftsmanship, and grow into future talents with an international sense.
Education Objective

Foster design prodigies who can, produce and organize a new value of design culture with rich aesthetic sensitivity and creativity.

generate synergy by developing communication skills through collaborating with others and applying a combinative design attitude.

  1. Creativity to Apply New Design Attitude
    Ability to actualize one’s creative thoughts based on the philosophy innate to the design and the understanding of the product’s functional and aesthetic features. / Ability to create new synergy by applying a combinative design attitude through communication and empathy.
  2. Textile Trend Analysis and Organizing Capability
    Ability to understand new trends of art culture and environment in the global market and predict and analyze future designs. / Ability to collect design information using computers.
  3. Design Development Capabilities for Actual Textile Practice in the Workplace
    Ability to understand and apply genuine textile techniques. / Ability to utilize specific programs for textile designing.
  4. Communication Skills for Design Collaboration
    Ability to understand and act as a part of the division for design collaboration. / Ability to communicate with and embrace others for constructive teamwork. / Leadership, Conflict Management, Problem-solving Ability.
