Department of Pharmacy at Duksung Women's University was founded in 1954 with a capacity of 160 students and elevated to College of Pharmacy in 1988. College of Pharmacy has endeavored towards excellent pharmacy education by continuously improving the curriculum. More than 20 faculty members, specialized in clinical pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, and biomedial sciences, are devoted to high quality pharmacy education to prepare students as qualified professional pharmacists with basic knowledge and practical skills. College of Pharmacy also offers opportunities to conduct pharmaceutical research experiences at the outstanding research centers including Pharmaceutical Research Center, Duksung Innovative Drug Center, Development of novel therapeutics for Parkinson’s disease Team, and Basic Science Research Labs.
Education Objective

Our mission is to cultivate health professionals with integrity and intelligence. Educational objectives are to equip pharmacy students with (1) professional ethics for patient-centered care in pharmacy practice, (2) leadership for improvement in the national health care system, and (3) capabilities for lifelong learning and scientific research.

Specialities

College of Pharmacy at Duksung Women's University has strong off-campus internship programs to prepare students for their career as knowledgeable and responsible health professionals. Educational partnership with about 20 medical institutions, 35 community pharmacies, 15 pharmaceutical companies, and 20 research institutes have been established. Clinical pharmacy faculties closely monitor the internship conditions and evaluate students’ learning progress. Pharmacy students are also encouraged to participate in global internship programs. We have signed MOU with University of Southern California School of Pharmacy and Western University of Health Sciences. In addition, diverse campus club activities and volunteer pharmacy services strengthen relationship between students and alumni.

Education Curriculum

College of Pharmacy offers six-year direct-entry program following the amendment of the national pharmacy education policy in 2022. During the first two years, students will take basic biosciences, chemistry, and humanities and social sciences. From the third year, the courses focus on the pharmaceutical sciences and pharmacy practice. The curriculum in the last one year includes off-campus internship program. Students will have opportunities to learn from the qualified preceptor pharmacists working in various healthcare environments, including community pharmacies, medical institutions, and pharmaceutical companies.
