Greetings! I am Kim, Gun-Hee, the President of Duksung Women’s University(DSWU).
DSWU traces history to the “Chosun Committee for Women’s Education” in 1920,
founded by Patriot Ms. Chamirisa(1879~1955).

The founding spirit “Live, but live your own life. Think, but think for yourself. Learn, but learn your own lesson” has led the Duksung history for 102 years, fostering leaders of the society
who challenge to seek new values for the future.

To carry out the spirit of self–reliance, self-independence, self-awareness, DSWU aims to cultivate creativity, righteousness, and convergent thinking capabilities by operating a variety of programs.

Duksung has set creativity, partnership, progressiveness, professionalism, empathy, and citizenship as its core competency indicators to face the ever-changing world. DSWU’s interdisciplinary major system that has influenced other universities nationwide is one of Duksung’s fruitful efforts to innovate the traditional academic system.

As President, I shall dedicate myself to educating professionals with a cool mind of professional knowledge and a warm heart of humanity embedded in the founding spirit of Ms. Chamirisa. Duksung Women’s University aspires to “seek new values for today and be prepared for tomorrow” through developing sustainable educational programs, enhancing administrative efficiency, modernizing facilities and equipment.
