Discover Korea at Duksung

Discover Korea at Duksung is an international summer program that provides a great opportunity to students to learn about Korea’s language and culture. The program is consisted of Korean language classes in the morning, and cultural excursions during the afternoon. Students will be hosted at Duksung Women’s University, which is located in the in the capital of Korea, Seoul, which will give a chance to explore the modern and dynamic city as well as the historical and traditional culture.
Time Period

3 weeks during summer vacation

Eligibility
  • Students from partner universities who are interested in learning the Korean language and are highly willing to share their culture with other international students.
  • Students must be able to understand and communicate in English since the main language of conduct will be English.
  • Korean proficiency is not required. Korean language courses will be conducted in two levels, beginner and beginner intermediate.
Programs Offered
  • Korean Language Course (basic and basic intermediate level): 3 credits
  • 2 day field trip * Trip location may change.
  • Special lecture on Korean Pop Culture
  • Visit to the city
  • Tae Kwon Do class

Costs and Fees
  • There are no tuition fees for the program.
  • Accommodation will be provided by Duksung during the program.
  • Some meals will be provided during week days (around 60% of the whole stay).
  • Other costs (paid by participant):
    • Application fee: 50,000KRW (payment during the orientation)
    • Roundtrip Airfare and other traveling costs
    • Meals when it is not provided (weekends and some weekday meals)
    • You must provide your own international health insurance from your home country.
    • Other personal expenses

    4. A copy of your travel insurance (can be submitted upon arrival)
